Editorial Reviewers
MakeCalcs separates tool engineering from subject-matter review. Two independent reviewers verify content within their respective scopes: a UK construction professional for trade-realism on interior and construction-adjacent garden calculators, and an academic mathematician for the formula correctness across all 22 calculators. Per-page reviewer assignment is by topic fit. Pages outside both scopes display no review byline rather than inventing one.

Verifies material quantities, dimension calculations, waste factors, and installation assumptions match what a tradesperson would expect on a real job site.

Asst. Prof. Bojan Žugec — Mathematical Methods & Quantitative Verification
PhD. Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), University of Zagreb — Department of Quantitative Methods. Assistant Professor in the Department of Quantitative Methods at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb.
Reviews mathematical correctness of all calculate() functions across MakeCalcs. Verifies unit conversion accuracy, waste percentage calculations, area and volume formulas for complex shapes (L-shape, U-shape, T-shape), and rounding behaviour that could cause over- or under-ordering. Serves as the primary domain reviewer for the 6 horticulture garden calculators (mulch, lawn seed, lawn turf, topsoil, plant spacing, hedge planting) pending engagement of a topic-matched horticulture specialist.
Horticulture reviewer — seat open
Six of our garden calculators sit in horticulture rather than construction: mulch, lawn seed, lawn turf, topsoil, plant spacing, and hedge planting. These pages currently carry only the mathematical review by Asst. Prof. Žugec — verifying that area / volume / spacing arithmetic and unit conversion are correct. The topic-specific review (species spacing norms, seasonal sowing rates, soil-grade selection, BS 3882 grade interpretation) is the work of a horticulturist, and we are actively seeking the right reviewer for that seat.
Credential profile for the open seat: a qualified horticulturist (RHS Level 2 or 3 or equivalent industry qualification), or an established landscape gardener with a verifiable trade presence comparable to Glen Todd's (Companies House record, web presence, demonstrable trade history), or an experienced market gardener or nurseryman with a public, verifiable identity. Pending that appointment, the affected pages disclose the mathematics-only review honestly rather than claim a horticultural attestation we cannot back.
